The Sunshine State Book Festival

Trying to put Owl Music in front of as many faces as possible has been a challenge. A welcome challenge, but a challenge none the less. Not going to lie. I have never done this before and had you asked me 5 years ago if it was my intention to write and sell a book, I would have said, “Who? Me?”
But here I am with 5000 beautiful books and temporarily flat sales. Thank you to all that have bought Owl Music. It has been a huge help and boost to get to the second printing. Please tell your friends.
I thought Owl Music would catch much faster than it has. Granted, I have no frame of reference and I notice that I am entering an extremely flooded marketplace. Despite all of this, I am feeling good! I still think Owl Music is one of the better books on the market and I do think it will sell. But how to get the word out.
Next Stop: the Sunshine State Book Festival!
I started looking into book festivals. There are quite a few. Most are juried into or by invite only, but there happened to be The Sunshine State Book Festival. It was full. I entered the waitlist and got in.
When a door opens, you walk through it. So I am headed to Gainesville January 31-Feb 1. Friday is a writers intensive conference with information on marketing, self publishing, book agency, etc. Saturday, I get half of a table and to talk to anyone who will come by about Owl Music. I have no idea what to expect, but just meeting those that have done this before will be helpful.
